Yesterday had been a long day in Iskat before leaving, with formal receptions and a dreadfully long dinner where he ended up upsetting one of his father's cousins by imitating an angry dove. Since the relative had just expressed the opinion that shooting the pests would be the best, Kiem felt the reaction was a bit exaggerated, but at least his cousin prince Vaile had smiled just a tiny bit and managed to smooth things over.<br /><br />Now he was back, by orders of the Emperor although for once happily obeying. Did that mean he <em>was</em> actually obeying? Would he have sneaked away eventually anyway? The question appeared in Kiem's sleepy thoughts and stayed there until he managed to reach for his phone and check the time.<br /><br />&quot;I missed the end of the last semester? Graduation?
